Looking at my 'competition' has helped me to develop my own ideas, as although they are not the same as my own magazine, they are the most similar on the market overall. Looking at their articles has given me ideas for the kind of content I could include in my own magaziNE to attract readers, who are of a similar age and have similar interest to ETC North East and The Crack's readers. Also, when examining the language used within these magazines, I have found it is generally quite informal and colloquial, which is something I would aim to replicate in my own magazine - having a young, local target audience means they would probably respond better to this dialogue than formal.
