National and Regional Magazines

Powered by emaze

Comparing national and regional magazines has helped me to see which conventions are used in both, and what is used exclusively in regional magazines. For example language in national magazines is generally quite formal as they are catering for a larger market from different backgrounds, whereas regional magazines use more specific, colloquial dialogue. This is because they are aiming for a particular reader who will be more likely to recognise this language and feel a connection/familiarity to the magazine. I will update this presentation so that it compares layouts as well and I will create another presentation comparing websites.

  1. Good post Siena, it would be a good idea to also compare the layout of these magazines also, and to compare websites also (I don't think there are regional billboards for these magazines, I may be wrong though).
